Rocky Mount photographer Allen Hinnant has earned the certified professional photographer designation from the Professional Photographic Certification Commission.

To earn the designation, Hinnant completed a written exam, successfully submitted his work to a panel of judges for review and approval, finished an image evaluation and agreed to adhere to a stringent code of conduct.

The commission recognizes fewer than 2,000 certified professional photographers worldwide. Fewer than 50 in North Carolina have earned the designation.
