Southern Bank honored three of its staff members in Rocky Mount at its recent program at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
Mari T. Johnson, a teller in the Westridge branch, was named Division I Teller of the Year.
A native of Roanoke Rapids and a Southern employee for four years, Johnson is a graduate of Halifax Community College in Weldon.
Dawn Burnworth, a customer service representative at the Westridge branch, was selected as Division I Customer Service Representative of the Year.
A native of Nash County, Burnworth is a graduate of Northern Nash High School and has studied business at Nash Community College. She lives in Nashville.
Judy M. Lynn, the bank’s senior vice president and regional credit administrator for the city, was presented with the Service Excellence Award.
Lynn earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. The Raleigh native has 23 years experience in the banking industry.
Lynn and her husband, Jay, live in Spring Hope with their children, John and Jamie. She attends Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church, where she serves as a youth leader.
