Baseball

1. (--): Dillon Moore, C/P, Nash Central: Moore struck out 10 batters in six innings in a loss to Northern Nash on Tuesday but will likely finish the season with a batting average north of .450.

2. (NR): Will Edwards, P, Rock Mount High:Edwards started the week off right.He threw a two-hit shutout as Rocky Mount defeat the best two teams in the conference on back-to-back nights – Nash Central and Wilson Hunt.

3. (NR) Khalil Macklin, SS, Nash Central: Like his teammate, Macklin should finish the season with a batting average above .400. He tripled in the Bulldogs win against Wilson Fike and scored Nash Central’s lone run Tuesday.

4. (NR): Jacob Green, P, Northern Nash: Green ended the week right. As Northern Nash defeated Nash Central, Green carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before he was pulled. He had no complaint though, he didn’t know.

Softball

1. (--) Lesley Murray, LF, Nash Central: After picking up a hit in all but one game this season, Murray should finish the year with a batting average well into the .400s. She’s a threat to drive in runs, even if the bases are empty.

2. (--) Mariah Gray, 2B/P, Southern Nash: Gray pitched a pair of gems this week and allowed just five runs in two games. Only two of those runs were earned.

3. (NR) Jessica Ricks, CF, Northern Nash: Ricks went 3-for-4 on Tuesday night, but has been one of the better outfielders in the area this season – both at the plate and in the grass.

4. (-1) Lindsey Sharpe, 3B/P, Nash Central: Sharpe went 1-for-3 against Northern Nash on Tuesday and has been key for the Bulldogs, who remain tied for first place in the conference.
