Baseball

1. (NR): Dillon Moore, C, Nash Central: Moore has been a man of many hats for the Bulldogs. He went 2-for-4 in two games this week but also pitched against Rocky Mount after catching against Southern Nash. His natural position is at third base.

2. (NR): Spenser Ramsey, SS, Rocky Mount High: Rocky Mount High has won three straight and a Ramsey is a huge reason why. He had four RBI and scored three times, including the game-winner, against Nash Central.

3. (+1): Ryan Shearin, 3B, Southern Nash: Shearin carried a seven-game hitting streak into Tuesday’s game and has been a consistent threat to drives in runs. He’s turning into a pretty good, middle-of-the-order batter for the Firebirds.

4. (NR): Adam Bayless, IF, Rocky Mount Academy:The younger Bayless has carried a .531 slugging percentage and a .388 average into late April. There’s something to be said about that.

In consideration:

Lucas Bayless, Rocky Mount Academy; Tevin Boykin, Southern Nash; Layne Brewer, Tarboro; Will Edwards, Rocky Mount High; Chase Johnson, Tarboro;Jeremy Johnson, CF, Rocky Mount High; Tyler King, Nash Central; Khalil Macklin, Nash Central;Zack Parris, Southern Nash; Chase Roupp, Faith Christian; Jordan Taylor, Nash Central; Kyle Taylor, Nash Central; Keith Williams, Tarboro; Stephen Williams, Northern Nash.

Softball

1. (--) Lesley Murray, LF, Nash Central: Murray continues to pound the ball. She has recorded a hit in every game this season and has at least one RBI in eight of the past nine games.

2. (+2) Mariah Gray, 2B/P, Southern Nash: Sure, she’s a pitcher too, but we’ll ignore that this week. Gray scored twice and had two extra-base hits as Southern Nash tied the Big East Conference with a victory against Nash Central this week.

3. (-1) Lindsey Sharpe, 3B/P, Nash Central: Sharpe has been dulled a little – that pun was awful. She had just one hit during the Bulldogs’ loss to Southern Nash.

4. (NR) Chelsea Owens, INF, SouthWest Edgecombe: The Cougars have been putting a charge in the ball lately and are still in the discussion for a conference championship. Owens has been a key part of keeping them there.

In consideration:

Kadijah Barfield, Northern Nash; Caley Bass, Nash Central; Grayson Bass, Nash Central; Amanda Dickson, Northern Nash; Kelsey Page, SouthWest Edgecombe; Rachel Pearce, Nash Central; AC Phillips, Northern Nash; Brittani Strickland, Nash Central.
