So, how bad was Hanna?
We lost a pretty good-sized limb from a tree in the front yard at my house, but other than that, we’ve been very fortunate.
How about you? Do you know of any power outages? Any serious damage? Anyone who needs help and hasn’t received it?
Or post here if you just want to say “Thank God, it wasn’t any worse than it was.”
Hope you’re all safe.

how bad was Hanna? didn’t make nearly as much of a mess for rocky mount as have some of the political leaders. Thank goodness we still have ‘wise’ business leaders who are making long term plans and working aggressively to bring businesses to our area—despite being impeded sometimes by the local political process.
very pleased to see the improvements in rocky mount and now nashville (nashvill Wendy’s, Waffle House, steak house, and more)—rocky mount (Doubletree hotel, candlewood suites, Holiday Inn)— but we can and should have much more.
curfew is in the news again, huh? some in law enforcement feel we should not impose a curfew until we really need one—as in true emergencies such as other towns did during hurricanes.
one answer to the underlying problem for the curfew? how about having these politicians walk and talk in their neighborhoods, in their churches, in the business areas, at the basketball and football games— heck, even at the car wash.. to encourage these young folks to behave—start acting like civilized citizens who want better for themselves and the community.
It all starts at home, in the community, and with the political/church leaders expecting good behavior from those around them. don’t penalize the rest of our citizens and young people for what YOU are not doing.

I just love it when folks take something and twist the heck out of it along with misleading folks at the same time. This article was suppose to be about Hanna and look at how Ken put a twist on it. No problem I am going to contribute my 1 cent by responding.) TPA

(What mess are you talking about?) TPA
Thank goodness we still have wise business leaders who are making long term plans and working aggressively to bring businesses to our areadespite being impeded sometimes by the local political process.
(I be darn. You want folks to think that politics is not a part of making business decisions. So sad.) TPA
very pleased to see the improvements in rocky mount and now nashville (nashvill Wendys, Waffle House, steak house, and more)rocky mount (Doubletree hotel, candlewood suites, Holiday Inn) but we can and should have much more.
(Funny how you didn’t mention the new Credit Union coming to Edgecombe side, the new car wash, the wash house and etc.) TPA

(Council persons can not be responsible for those who misbehave actions so again misleading folks. Sir you and others can do the same thing you stated above.) TPA
It all starts at home, in the community, and with the political/church leaders expecting good behavior from those around them.
(Sir start at home, go out in the community and do your part. Everybody has a role to play. Everyone should expect good behavior however it is not happening so therefore some things must be put in place. And folks like you who call yourself an upstanding person and want what is best for the community has the audacity to say it is about penalizing the rest of the citizens and young people for what “they” ought to be doing.
It is a shame that you have the audacity to mislead folks about folks who are not criminals.) TPA

well, hello Dancy and folks. curfew. have to agree that children under 16 should not be out on the streets— this type of curfew would not just cut down on petty crime and mischief, it would help keep youngsters from getting themselves in trouble or hurt— any might wind up helping them get better grades in school.
improvements on edgecombe side— you’re right, i sure missed out on that one this time.
we DO have a good city and counties— just hope that whoever is elected for governor, treasurer, and representative will focus attention on our area and bring whatever resources available to help our area.
best wishes to all.
