1. I miss my sisters. I was supposed to see them both at my nephew's birthday party this weekend, but I missed it. And them.
2. Emmy is getting ready to move to a bed. A good friend had lent us a crib and she needs it back to pass on to a family member. I'm eventually going to put a single bed in her room, but a futon fell in my lap and her room is the only place for it, for now. So after her crib is gone, I'm going to put the futon/bed in her room. And hope she stays in it. I can't decide whether to get her a white quilt or a pink one (the walls in her room are light green and her furniture is white with pink handles). There's both at Target for $24.99. I'm going cheap on the quilt and looking for nice shams, coverlet, etc. I'm going to keep my eye on T.J. Maxx, they have good deals on pillow shams and sheets. Something like this:

3. I stayed up to watch the Grammy's this past Sunday. Wasn't too impressed. My faves, the Avett Brothers and Mumford and Sons were good, but not great. And Arcade Fire just about gave me a seizure with all their strobe lights and stuff. I saw this clip online of Adele, singing at another music award show recently. I wish more music acts would get attention, that just plain sing good. It's just this woman and a piano; no lights, no pyrotechnics, no lip-syncing, no dancing. Adele is so beautiful and I hope more people learn to love her. (I can't get the video to embed. Check out Adele singing "Someone Like You" here)
4. I just finished the March Charm magazine. Our covergirl is.......... MARISA DEMPSEY! She's a local doula (we explain what that is in the story) and she's an amazing woman. Her generous spirit and calming and joyful demeanor have made her the epitome of someone you'd want in the delivery room during the most important moment of your life. There's also a story by Kathryn Bales about cleaning out your closet and making the most of the wardrobe you've already got (plus a few accessories). AND, we unveil the details of our Charm contest – "You Wore What?" – and how you can nominate someone who commits Crimes of Fashion.
5. Did you hear? The absolutely, wonderful H&M stores are going online in the U.S. They've got a store in Raleigh, at Crabtree Mall. Think Old Navy, with an edge. At Old Navy, I love their clothes, but most of the time, I think the clothes look as cheap as their prices. And this is perfectly fine - you get what you pay for, you know? H&M stores differ in that, the clothes totally look more pricey than they are.
Michelle Obama wore H&M last week for an appearance on the Today Show.

This dress is $34.99 at H&M! I'll report more about H&M's online store when it goes live.
6. I am going to read "The Hunger Games" next. Has anyone else read it? I've heard it's good, but did I just read somewhere it's a young adult series? That seems weird....
7. My kids are just getting over TWO WEEKS of being sick. Thomas was out of school for 8 days. And when he went back, his teachers didn't send home any extra work for him to do, no make-up classwork, no missed homework, nothing. He's got some tests and some kind of video/test to take, but that's it. This is disturbing to me.......
8. Some of the spring fashion trends I'm going to blog about in the future: Romantic blouses, kitten heels, oxford shoes, simple jackets, wide-leg pants, neutrals and ladylike dresses.
9. I love the pictures from Nash Rec's Daddy Daughter Dance - see them here.
10. Emmy got this book from her Nana for Christmas, and we have just about worn it out. She calls it "Baby Book" and it's a treasury of Eloise Wilkin illustrated/written Golden Books. There are SEVERAL stories in this book, and WE HAVE TO READ EVERY ONE, EVERY TIME! But I love this book, so usually I don't mind.

You can order it here, on amazon.com, It's under $10 and it's a hardback book.
This was my favorite book as a little girl. It's in the book Emmy has:

Do you remember this book? So sweet!
