Ward Drug Co. of Nashville and Gary Glisson, RPh, welcomed Jamie Hull and Blake Lamm as pharmacy students for the month of May 2008.

Hull is an upcoming second year pharmacy student at Campbell University and Blake is an upcoming third year pharmacy student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Hull is from Nashville and graduated from Northern Nash High School in 2004. She then studied pharmaceutical science for three years at Campbell before entering pharmacy school. She is a member of Kappa Psi Professional Pharmaceutical Fraternity. She will graduate in 2011 with a Doctorate of Pharmacy.

Most of Hull's pharmacy experience has been in hospital settings and her interest is in clinical pharmacy.

Lamm is from Spring Hope and graduated from Southern Nash Senior High School in 2000 and later from Duke University with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 2004.

Lamm worked at DSM Pharmaceuticals for two years in Greenville before entering pharmacy school. He will graduate with his Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2010. Most of his experience is in retail pharmacy and he hopes to one day open his own independent pharmacy with his sister, April, who is also a pharmacist.

Hull and Lamm are under the supervision of Dr. Bobby Godwin, as well as Glisson. During their time at Ward Drug, they will be gaining experience in the areas of compounding, dispensing, diabetes, DME (durable medical equipment), marketing and billing.

Ward Drug Co. is excited to provide Hull and Lamm with this learning opportunity, Glisson said.

"Over many years, Ward Drug has collaborated with local schools of pharmacy in order to mold the most proficient, competent pharmacists of tomorrow," he said. "We look forward to continuing this necessary practice by challenging and educating Steve and furthering his pharmaceutical skills."
