Boice-Willis Clinic Endoscopy recently received state certification from the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation, to further confirm the Clinic's commitment to provide the highest level of quality care to its patients.
The facility is the only state certified ambulatory surgery center in the communities of Nash, Edgecombe, Halifax and Franklin counties.
"Our patients' needs come first," said Chief Executive Officer Gary Fazio. "Boice-Willis Clinic is always looking for opportunities to provide additional medical services in a setting that is convenient for our patients."
The Endoscopy Center was designed with quality, patient privacy, and efficiency in mind. Its medical staff includes three gastroenterologists, Dr. Mark Anderson, Dr. Mitchell Mah'moud and Dr. Robert Schellenberg, as well as four registered nurses. The center also provides a comfortable setting for Endoscopy services, such as colonoscopies, esophageal dilations, and esophagogastroduodenoscopies.
"As the dynamics of health care have changed over the years, especially in regard to the willingness of Medicare and insurance companies to pay for screening exams, it made more and more sense to create a dedicated facility for these services," Dr. Robert Schellenberg said. "With this facility, patients cannot only access the services they need, they can also receive them at a significant cost savings."
Boice-Willis Clinic Endoscopy is proud to have met the challenge of State Certification and National Accreditation, and intends to consistently uphold the principle of quality improvement and quality care.
