WILMINGTON — Filmmakers are visiting Wilmington to showcase their skills at the 12th N.C. Black Film Festival.
The StarNews of Wilmington reports the festival begins Thursday and continues through Sunday. Events are scheduled to be held at the Cameron Art Museum on Thursday and Sunday, UNC Wilmington's Warwick Center on Friday and the Hannah Block USO/Community Arts Center building in downtown on Saturday.
Festival director Charlon Turner says this year's event is highlighted by the screening of "Put a Ring On It," the new feature from Wilmington writer- director Nakia Hamilton.
Part documentary and part feature, "Put A Ring on It" is described as mixing real-life couples asking relationship questions with an ensemble of actors playing out skits on particular themes. It's scheduled to be shown Saturday at the arts center.
