CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities accuse a 17-year-old teen of robbing and killing a 25-year-old man in a north Charlotte neighborhood.
The Charlotte Observer reports that the teen is the second man arrested for Wednesday's fatal shooting of Zachary Jamal Pittman. Police arrested 20-year-old Brandon Newkirk last week. Both are charged with murder and two counts of armed robbery.
Police say Newkirk and Pittman had arranged a drug deal.
The shooting was reported to police around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.
It was unclear if Newkirk has an attorney.
