ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — An administrator at a state prison in Buncombe County has been arrested after police say he tried to run over a man in his car.

Asheville Police told the Citizen-Times of Asheville (http://avlne.ws/1itWFE0 ) that 45-year-old Stephen Bolden is charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Investigators say Bolden tried to run over the man in a mobile home park around 1 a.m. Tuesday, but the man jumped out of the way and Bolden's vehicle hit two other cars.

Police say Bolden drove away and was arrested a short time later at his home. He remained in jail Wednesday and it wasn't known if he had a lawyer.

Bolden is an assistant superintendent at the Swannanoa Correctional Center for Women, and state prison officials say they are doing their own internal investigation.
