GREENVILLE— Police say a drug deal led to a fatal shooting in a Greenville parking lot.

Investigators said officers were called around 9:15 p.m. Saturday to a parking lot where shots had been fired.

Five minutes later, someone reported a one-car wreck nearby, and authorities said 20-year-old Zachery Russian was in the driver's seat suffering from a gunshot wound. He died several hours later at the hospital.

Police say 18-year-old Brandon Maldonado, 41-year-old James Murray and 36-year-old Earl Ward have each been charged with murder. They are being held in jail and it isn't known if they have lawyers.

Greenville Police Chief Hassan Aden says his officers are still trying to figure out what happened, but the shooting appeared to be related to drugs.
