MIDDLETOWN, Del.  — Delaware State Police have arrested a North Carolina man after police say they found a loaded gun and drugs in a vehicle after a traffic stop.

It happened about 3:15 p.m. Monday near the Biddles toll plaza on Route 1 in Middletown. Authorities say a trooper saw a car change lanes abruptly. The trooper stopped the vehicle and ordered the driver and passenger to get out of the car.

Police say the trooper smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle. Authorities say the trooper found cocaine, marijuana and a loaded .357 revolver, which was later determined to have been stolen, in the car.

The driver, 28-year-old Jacob Taylor III of Wilson was charged with drug and weapons offenses.
