GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — University Health Systems and Pitt County Memorial Hospital have put a name change on hold because of a trademark conflict over the initials "UHS."

The Daily Reflector of Greenville reported (http://bit.ly/nQpstN) that Pennsylvania-based Universal Health Services said earlier this month that it intends to assert trademark privileges.

University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina said in August that it would shorten its name to University Health System and that Pitt County Memorial Hospital would change its name to UHS Medical Center.

University Health Systems CEO Dave McRae says the hospital will announce a new name in 90 days.
