RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles says its mobile unit won't make its stop in Hatteras because of the severe weather and the possibility of overwash on N.C. Highway 12.

The stop was scheduled for Wednesday.

Officials say the mobile unit has a strict schedule of stops along the coast, but will not be able to get to Hatteras due to weather conditions on the coast.

The unit is scheduled to return to Hatteras again on Thursday, Dec. 19.

DMV offices offering driver license services will be open in Manteo, Elizabeth City and Washington.
