CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have taken a man into custody after two people were found shot to death inside a home.
Officers reportedly first went to the home Tuesday morning after a woman called to say she thought she'd seen her ex-boyfriend in the woods behind her house. Police searched the area and didn't find the man.
About two hours later, officers stopped a speeding vehicle. Police said the suspect fled on foot to an apartment but was captured. He was taken to a hospital for treatment and told staff he had shot his girlfriend.
Capt. Nick Pellicone said officers went to the home and found a man and woman dead. He said a child at the home was not injured.
So far, no identities have been released.
