BURLINGTON, N.C. (AP) — A Burlington man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a man died in a Greensboro hospital.

The Times-News of Burlington reported (http://bit.ly/1f2aD9p) Police say 42-year-old Ulysses Pete Stewart Jr. threw a table at 62-year-old Kevin Chadderton on Wednesday.

Search warrants filed Thursday show the men had argued over moving the table.

Investigators said the table hit Chadderton in the head, causing him to fall. He was taken to Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro where he died Thursday.

Burlington police were called to a retirement home just after noon Wednesday where both men lived.

Attorney Jeff Connolly says Stewart needs a mental health evaluation.

His next court appearance is March 12.
