DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Police have charged a man with killing his sister-in-law nearly 12 years after her body was found in a burning garage in Durham.

Investigators said 64-year-old Clayton Leak Jr. was arrested Friday and faces a murder charge.

Authorities say 47-year-old Vivian Leak's body was found in the garage beside her estranged husband's home in June 2000.

Police would not say why they decided to press charges after 12 years or talk about how Vivian Leak might have died.

It was not clear if Clayton Leak had a lawyer.
