HICKORY — Investigators say a Hickory man has shot and killed someone he said was trying to break into his home.
Police said the shooting happened around 9 a.m. Saturday.
The person shot died at the scene. Authorities say the homeowner was also taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released.
Police say they found signs of a break-in at the home.
Authorities still are investigating the shooting, No charges have been filed. The names of the homeowner and the person shot to death have not been released.
