RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Visitors to the North Carolina Museum of History have a chance to get a glimpse of George Washington that goes well beyond the portrait on the $1 bill.

"Discover the Real George Washington" opens Friday at the history museum in Raleigh and continues through Jan. 21, 2011. The exhibit organized by the Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens includes the only surviving complete set of the first president's dentures — and they're not made from wood but of human and cow teeth as well as elephant and walrus ivory.

Other items in the exhibit include Gilbert Stuart's portrait of Washington, which the same image as the one that graces the $1 bill; and three life-sized figures showing him at various stages of life.
