FOREST CITY, N.C. (AP) — A former Western Carolina football player has been found shot to death in Rutherford County.

Officials say 21-year-old Antonitis Robinson died earlier this week after he was shot several times.

Sheriff's detective Ron Bailey says Robinson's body was found behind an abandoned house in the Forest City area on Tuesday. Bailey says investigators have not determined a motive and do not have any suspects.

The defensive lineman played in all 22 games in his freshman and junior seasons and had 32 tackles last season. He sat out his sophomore season to focus on his class work and earned a bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship.

Assistant coach Mark Rhea says Robinson left school after the season last fall
