RURAL HALL — Forsyth County authorities say a weekend shooting killed a Winston-Salem man.

The sheriff's office said 33-year-old Thomas Jacob Bowman died of a gunshot wound in a double shooting Sunday night.

The sheriff's office said 73-year-old Kenneth Joe Wray Jr. of Rural Hall was in guarded condition at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Deputies said Wray called 911 shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday to report a break-in. Chief Deputy Brad Stanley said deputies found Wray and Bowman in the home with gunshot wounds.

Stanley would not say whether deputies found a gun in the home.

Stanley said Bowman may have lived in the home, even though he has a Winston-Salem address.
