GATLINBURG, Tenn. — Two teenagers who were missing overnight in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park have been found safe.

National Park Service spokeswoman Dana Soehn said the boys were found around 9:15 a.m. EDT.

WBIR-TV first reported the youths missing. The station reported a mother and the two youths were hiking on Sunday and took different trails, agreeing to meet up later. The youths hiked toward the Little Bottoms Trail area and the woman arrived at the agreed-upon meeting point, but the boys didn't show up.

The woman reported them missing around 8 p.m. Sunday and an initial search was conducted then.

Soehn said rangers made contact with the youths shortly after setting out on a new search Monday morning.

Details about where they were found were not immediately available.
