Asheville teen charged in high school fight

ASHEVILLE— Authorities in Asheville say a 16-year-old girl faces several charges after a fight at a high school in which two students and three faculty members were assaulted.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports  warrants at the magistrate's office say the girl is charged with three counts of assault on a school employee, two counts of simple assault and one count of injury to personal property.

According to the warrants, the girl is accused of assaulting staff members as they tried to break up a fight she was involved in at Reynolds High School. She is also accused of throwing a glass flower vase and breaking it on the floor.

The girl is in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $1,000 secured bond. It isn't known if she has an attorney.
