About 6,000 without power in the Carolinas

RALEIGH — Most people in the Carolinas still have electricity despite the superstorm sparked by Tropical Storm Sandy.

Duke Energy reported about 4,000 customers without service early Tuesday. The biggest outages were in Henderson County, with about 2,600 customers without service.

About 1,000 customers are without service in Buncombe County.

Dominion Power reported only a couple of dozen customers are without service on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
