4 killed when car hits vacant home near Sanford

BROADWAY, N.C. (AP) — The state Highway Patrol says four people are dead after a car crashed into an empty house near Sanford and caught fire.

The accident happened about 2:30 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 421 in Broadway in Lee County.

Investigators said two women and two men in the red Dodge Charger were killed. Authorities haven't released their names.
