GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — To men have been charged in the August death of a Greenville minister.
Police say 20-year-old Tyrell Deltwon Artis and 22-year-old Shamel Rayvon Brown were arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree burglary.
Police say Artis and Brown shot 60-year-old James Alan Carr on Aug. 20 while trying to rob his home. Carr later died at a hospital.
Carr was the pastor of outreach for Covenant Methodist Church and had been on staff there for two years. Officials say he also worked part time at Pitt Community College in the continuing education department.
Aris and Brown were expected to appear in court Monday. It wasn't known if they had attorneys.
