A Tarboro woman who has been missing since Jan. 22 was reported to be alive and well Wednesday by the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office.
“Last week, we asked the help of the community in locating Katherine Pierce-Shrock. Today, we are happy to report that Katherine Pierce has been found alive and well,” said Detective Lt. E.W. Muse of the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Department in a statement Tuesday. “We are thankful for this positive outcome because we truly know this could have easily had a different outcome.
“Sheriff Atkinson would like to thank all of the agencies involved in the search, including Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, Wilson Police Department, Nash County Sheriff’s Office and Rocky Mount Police Department for partnering with us to ensure her safe return to her family. Let us all continue to keep Ms. Pierce and her family in our prayers.”.
Muse said he is grateful for the community support in this effort.
“Thank you to everyone who shared our posts about her, called with tips, or looked for her on their own. It takes a community effort, often, to have a good outcome on cases like these,” Muse said.
