The women of Mount Pisgah Presbyterian Church recently celebrated Women’s Day with a weekend of fun and fellowship.
As a prelude to Sunday’s Women’s Day Worship Service, the ladies hosted a Saturday brunch. It was a joyful occasion and was well-attended by women from across the community. They had fun playing several games centered around the theme “Order My Steps.”
As a part of their work in the community, the women of Mount Pisgah focused on support for a local women’s shelter, The Lighthouse Home. Vanessa Rorie, director of the home, was there to speak about the work of The Lighthouse Home and its dedication to women in the community. The women of Mount Pisgah collected donations for the home during the brunch and the service on Sunday.
Fellowship continued on Sunday with the annual Women’s Day Worship Service. The worship service was dedicated to the memory of Helen P. Gay, a longtime member of Mount Pisgah and a pillar of the Nash-Edgecombe community. The speaker for the day was the Rev. Authurice Mitchell of Morningside Baptist Church. Mitchell’s sermon was centered around the theme of “Order My Steps.”
The weekend was a successful celebration of Women of Faith. The women of Mount Pisgah will continue to allow God to “order their steps” as they work with and support the Nash-Edgecombe community.
