Murder suspect captured in Fayetteville

The Rocky Mount Police Department’s Homicide Unit collaborated with the U.S. Marshals Task Force to make an arrest Saturday in connection with a recent Rocky Mount homicide.

Willie Leevon George Jr., 30, was found and arrested in Fayetteville. George was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 26-year-old Jameine Raquan Nicholson, better known as “Jamie” to his family and friends.

Rocky Mount police responded on Aug. 22 to the 2000 block of Nancys Circle in answer to a report of shots fired. They arrived to find that Nicholson had been shot. He later died of his wounds.
