A second man this week, this time a cyclist, has been injured in a hit-and-run incident.
Rocky Mount police responded about 9:14 p.m. Wednesday to the 800 block of West Raleigh Boulevard where they found a 58-year-old man who reportedly had been struck by a red Cadillac that fled the scene.
The man told police that he had been heading to the store, traveling west on his bicycle against traffic with a flashing light when the car struck his right arm, knocking him to the ground.
He was treated at the scene for what appeared to be broken bones and transported to Nash UNC Health Care for further evaluation and treatment.
A 63-year-old pedestrian also was hit by a car last Saturday. That vehicle also fled the scene.
