Fake detective charged by police

Rocky Mount police charged a man Wednesday for impersonating a law enforcement officer.
Fonnell Parker, 41, was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred about 12:25 p.m. Wednesday at the office of Time Financing Services on the 2300 block of Sunset Avenue. Parker reportedly was driving around the parking lot in a white Dodge Charger. When questioned about his presence, Parker allegedly claimed he was a detective with the Rocky Mount Police Department. The reason for these claims are unclear.
Parker was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer. He was jailed under a $5,000 secured bond in the Nash County Detention Center.
