Teen charged with armed robbery

A Tarboro teenager has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place earlier this month, according to information released Thursday by the Tarboro Police Department.
Cpl. Norville of the Tarboro Police Department responded about 9 a.m. on July 8 to Otis Avenue in Princeville regarding a robbery that reportedly took place near the 600 block of Wahree Street in Tarboro. The victim of the crime reported that he was robbed at gunpoint while attempting to sell some personal property.
As a result of the investigation, Norville and other officers of the Tarboro Police Department identified 18-year-old Jaheem Farmer as the suspect in the crime. Farmer was arrested on July 8 at his residence on the 600 block of Wahree Street in Tarboro where the stolen personal property and the firearm described as being used in the commission of the crime were found. Two other stolen firearms also were recovered, according to police reports.
Farmer was charged with armed robbery, larceny from a person and two counts of possession of a stolen firearm. He was jailed under a $70,000 bond in the Edgecombe County Detention Center.
