Police identify murder victim

Rocky Mount police have identified the victim of Wednesday’s homicide as 31-year-old Latisha Jasmein Lee of Rocky Mount.

Lee’s body was discovered about 10:57 Wednesday morning in an apartment at 1 Drew Hills Court. She was the apparent victim of an aggravated assault, according to a statement released by the Rocky Mount Police Department. Police later specified that she died as a result of stab wounds.

Rocky Mount police were called to the scene Wednesday morning by Nash County Communications to assist Emergency Medical Services with an unresponsive woman. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.

The homicide, the fifth of the year in Rocky Mount, is being investigated by the Rocky Mount Homicide Unit.
