Rocky Mount police arrested a man Wednesday for disobeying authorities’ orders.
Victor Lamont Burney was charged with resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer after officers about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday came to his residence in the 700 block of Kinchen Drive to serve an order of arrest on him, according to Aletre Pittman, digital evidence management officer of the Rocky Mount Police Department.
Pittman said Burney proceeded to lock himself inside his house in an attempt to avoid arrest.
“They had to go inside in order to arrest him, but he offered little resistance,” she said.
Burney was taken to the Nash County Detention Center. He given a $40,000 secured bond for order of arrest and a $1,000 secured bond for the resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer charge.
