Gunmen rob two on front porch

Rocky Mount police are investigating a weekend robbery.

Cpl. Brad Summerlin, public information officer for the Rocky Mount Police Department, said authorities are searching for a couple of black male suspects in their early 20s that allegedly robbed a two people at gunpoint at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday on the front porch of a residence in the 1000 block of Westwood Drive.

Summerlin said the two suspects brandished handguns at the victims. Summerlin said a 30-year-old black man was assaulted and a 41-year-old woman had her purse stolen. According to a report, the suspects stole Michael Kors’ purse that contained $300 in cash, a $100 LG cellphone, $30 key set, several debit and credit cards and some identification documents.
