U.S. Marshals in Atlanta have arrested a suspect in a recent Nash County homicide.
Darius Nike Taylor, 20, of the 2400 block of McNair Street in Wilson, has been charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon in the shooting death of 27-year-old Marquise Raheem Norfleet Anderson of Akron Road in Wilson.
Nash County deputies responded Aug. 26 to the 9000 block of London Church Road regarding a report of shots fired. London Church Road is in rural Nash County with a Wilson address.
Deputies found Anderson with a gunshot wound. He died later at a nearby hospital.
Detectives developed Taylor as a suspect. Authorities gathered enough probable cause evidence by Sept. 4 and an arrest warrant was obtained, said Chief Deputy Brandon Medina.
Taylor's whereabouts were unknown so detectives asked the U.S. Marshals to help in locating him.
"On Sept. 13, 2018, the U.S. Marshals Office based out of Atlanta, Georgia, took Darius Nike Taylor into custody without incident," Medina said.
Taylor was transported to the Paulding County Detention Center in Atlanta where he's awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.
This investigation is still open. Anyone with information related to the incident can call the Nash County Sheriff’s Office at 252-459- 4121 or Twin County Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111.
