Rocky Mount police arrested two men Tuesday on weapons violations charges.

Antonio Lamont Johnson, 23, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm and carrying a concealed weapon. Johnson received a $100,000 secured bond for the charges and was held without bond for a parole violation. Kaylith Lewis Moore, 19, received a $1,000 secured bond for a possession of a concealed weapon.

Cpl. Brad Summerlin, public information officer for the Rocky Mount Police Department, said authorities went to the 700 block of South Howell Street to do a parole check on Johnson, and he and Moore fled through the rear door of the house that prompted a short chase by officers.

Summerlin said authorities found firearms on both suspects during a search, while police recovered a stolen black semi-automatic pistol from Johnson.
