Detectives with the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office cleared five break-in cases with one arrest last week after a Princeville man was taken into custody.

Multiple break-ins have occurred since November in the Southern Terrace area of Princeville, said Detective Lt. E.W. Muse in a press release Tuesday. However, last week detectives arrested Trakelvious Williams, 24, of the 900 block of King Avenue in Princeville, in connection with the crimes. Detectives found property from two different break-ins at Williams’ house, Muse said.

Williams was charged with three counts of breaking and entering, two counts of felony larcency, five counts of larceny of a firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon and other charges of breaking or entering a motor vehicle, attempted second-degree burglary and injury to real property. At the time of the commission of these crimes, Williams was out on bond for break-ins and possessing firearms while a convicted felon, Muse said.

Williams was jailed under a $450,000 bond in the Edgecombe County Detention Center.

Detectives continue to work to recover property in these cases. Anyone with information about these break-ins is encouraged to call Detective Spruill at 252-641-7935. Reward money is available for tips leading to the recovery of property.
