Man killed in domestic violence shooting

Rocky Mount police are investigating an early morning shooting death resulting from an apparent domestic violence situation.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at about 3:48 a.m. at 2740 Stewart Lane. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Toby Harrison, 40, of Rocky Mount, dead from a gunshot wound. As the investigation progressed, police determined the death was as a result of a situation involving domestic violence.

According to a statement from the Rocky Mount police, this act was isolated, and there is no further threat to the community. No charges have been made at this time, pending a judicial review.
