Two Rocky Mount residents were arrested Tuesday on charges connected with Friday’s armed robbery of a Knightdale jewelry store.

Jaquin Jamal Pratt, 18, and Nikita Taylor, 25, were charged with first-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Pratt was arrested on the 608 block of Starling Way around 8:30 p.m. Nikita Taylor was arrested on the 300 block of South Church Street around 10 p.m.

Knightdale police assisted the Rocky Mount Police Department in making the arrests. The Knightdale Police Department issued a plea on their Facebook page Tuesday that the two suspects turn themselves in.

“We’re even calling on the suspects to mitigate the damage they’ve done by turning themselves in and cooperating with us to bring this matter to a close,” Knightdale Police Chief Lawrence Capps said in a statement posted to Facebook.

Taylor and Pratt are accused of robbing the Swift’s Fine Jewelry Store at 210 Hinton Oaks Blvd. in Knightdale.

According to Knightdale police, the suspects entered the store posing as potential customers before pulling a gun, ordering two employees to the ground and tying them up, the reason for the kidnapping charges. The couple then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry.

Both Taylor and Pratt are being held in the Nash County Detention Center under $750,000 bond each.
