Two face larceny charges for store theft

A Belk employee and a local resident face larceny charges in connection with the theft of clothing Saturday from the department store.
Rocky Mount police were called to Belk about a reported fraud involving an employee and another person. After an investigation, police recovered $1,720.99 worth of clothing that reportedly had been taken from the store without being purchased.
A Belk employee, Kurstin King, and another woman, Haley Peele, were taken before the magistrate in regards to the incident. King, 19, of Nashville, was charged by the magistrate with felony larceny by employee and Peele, 19, of Rocky Mount, was charged with felony larceny.
