Shooting victim dies from wounds

A 30-year-old man who was a victim of a weekend shooting that occurred near a nightclub in Rocky Mount died Wednesday, according to authorities.

Rocky Mount police Cpl. Mike Lewis said Jeremy Bell of Rocky Mount succumbed to his wounds. Lewis said he didn’t know the current condition of Antonio Lawrence, 30, of Sharspburg, who was also wounded in the shooting.

Levis Kirby Hicks, 29, of Rocky Mount, died from his wounds in the shooting. Police believe the shooting that happened in the area of Sunset Avenue near Dominick Drive was the result of an argument that happened at a nearby club. No arrests have been made in the shooting.

The homicide was Rocky Mount’s 12th so far this year.
