Second church broken into
From Staff Reports
Thursday, September 14, 2017
For the second time in as many days, Rocky Mount police are investigating a break-in at a local church.
Police responded to an anonymous call about the front door being open at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday at New Covenant Christian Faith Church on the 200 block of Falls Road. They said an investigation found nothing was taken, but that someone had broken into the church.
Tuesday’s break-in is the second this week involving a church in Rocky Mount. Abundant Life Ministries on the 700 block of Falls Road was broken into some time between Sunday and Monday. A television estimated to be worth $500 was taken from that church.
Rocky Mount police Cpl. Mike Lewis said the two break-ins are not believed to be related at this point, but stressed “the possibility always exists that they could be, pending investigation.”
