Handgun stolen in vehicle break-in

A vehicle break-in early this week resulted in the theft of items worth more than $1,000.

Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle break-in at 1:11 p.m.Tuesday at a house on the 800 block of Drexel Road. They said the victim told them the vehicle — a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse — had last been known to be secure at 11 p.m. Monday in the home’s driveway. They added the victim told them the break-in was discovered at 8:03 a.m. Tuesday.

Items worth $1,055 were taken, according to a report on the break-in. They included a 9-mm handgun worth $500, a laptop worth $450 and bank cards worth an estimated $60.
