Drive-by shooting wounds one

A local resident is recovering from gunshot wounds today after a drive-by shooting Thursday.

Rocky Mount police responded to a report of an aggravated assault at 11:20 a.m. at a house on the 400 block of Buena Vista Avenue. They said the victim told them an unidentified car drove by minutes earlier and shots were fired from the car. 

Police said the victim was grazed in the leg by the gunfire and was treated at the scene by firefighters. A Nissan Maxima sustained damage estimated to be $1,500, according to a report on the incident. No vehicle or suspect description was available.
