Rocky Mount police are on the lookout for a Tarboro man wanted in connection to a robbery Friday at a cell phone store.

Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at 5:35 p.m. at Boost Mobile on 783 Word Plaza. They said the manager on duty told them a black man armed with a handgun came into the store and demanded money. The suspect was described as standing 6-foot, 3-inches, weighing 200 pounds and wearing dark clothes.

They said the unidentified suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money before he fled on foot. Police later identified the suspect in the case as Larry Lamont Johnson, 31, of Tarboro. Warrants were taken out against Johnson for robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a fire arm by a felon.

Police discourage anyone who sees him from approaching him as he is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Johnson’s location is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
