A Nash County woman was found to be the cause of last week’s wreck at Sunset Avenue and Englewood Drive that badly damaged two vehicles and slowed traffic, a police report of the crash said.
Heather Nicole Pridgen on Wednesday afternoon was driving a 2010 Honda west on Sunset when she failed to stop for the red light at the intersection, causing a collision with a 2000 Toyota Logan O’Neal Williams was driving south on Englewood, the report said.
Emergency personnel and law enforcement received word of the wreck at 2:49 p.m. and no one was found to have suffered any potentially life-threatening injuries, the report said. Pridgen was cited for a red light signal violation, the report said.
Pridgen, of the 6000 block of Race Track Road, Castalia, was driving a Honda registered to her and the car sustained approximately $5,000 in damages, the report said.
Williams, of the 6200 block of Venice Court, was driving a Toyota registered to Willie Antwon Flowers, also of the 6200 block of Venice, and the car sustained approximately $9,000 in damages, the report said.
Williams had a passenger aboard in the right front seat, Dechante Sharice Flowers, of the 3200 block of Amherst Road, the report said.
Sunset is a busy corridor, with state Transportation Department data shows the average daily traffic count at 18,000 on the part of the avenue just east of the intersection with Englewood.
