The city will sponsor a Downtown Parking Study Public Workshop from 4-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Booker T. Theater at 170 E. Thomas St.

The purpose of the workshop is for city residents to engage in conversation about downtown parking, participate in interactive activities and learn about the parking study, which began in August 2018, city officials said..

The goal of the study is to conduct an analysis of existing parking conditions downtown and develop recommendations for future infrastructure and policy changes regarding parking in order to accommodate growth downtown.

Kimley-Horn Planning and Design Engineering Consultants will facilitate the workshop.

“We want to give people the opportunity to talk about what parking is needed downtown and where,” Transportation Planner Bob League said.
