A civic organization that provides networking opportunities for businesses located in Edgecombe County is hosting an upcoming event to help showcase local businesses.
The Edgecombe Entrepreneur Organization will be holding a Small Business Expo from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday in the breezeway of the Clarks Building at 415 N. Main Street in downtown Tarboro. Ben Mayo, a member of the Edgecombe Entrepreneur Organization who is on the committee for the small business expo, said the goal is to have at least 15 to 20 small or locally-owned businesses at the expo
While space is limited, Mayo said, the organization is still taking applications to allow entrepreneurs to display their businesses by showcasing brochures or even selling their products.
“We’re doing this to try to showcase the businesses in the area that people might not know and give them an opportunity to share what services they have to offer,” Mayo said. “We’re also hoping that we can possibly get some people to become members as well.”
Mayo said the Edgecombe Entrepreneur Organization has been a staple for more than 20 years in the Twin Counties.
“We encourage people who want to be entrepreneurs to become entrepreneurs by sharing information, doing workshops or bringing people that can help local entrepreneurs or aspiring entreprenurs get into business or help expand their businesses,” Mayo said.
